Abstract
Automation is an important trend to meet the increasing demands for performance, efficiency and adaptability in the intralogistics industry. Networked systems with powerful control technology that are linked by information and communication systems are regarded highly complex systems. Availability and performance are important parameters for monitoring and controlling of these automatic systems. In order to track them over the life cycle of the plant and to be able to make transparent statements about the condition of the plant, it is necessary to collect selected KPIs for a systematic monitoring. Currently, the determination and calculation of these figures within the framework of availability and performance tests of automated logistics systems is plant-specific and involves a great amount of manual effort. In this thesis a concept for the derivation of availability and performance indicators shall be developed. The terms availability and performance are looked at more closely and a critical examination of the relevant rules and regulations is carried out. In order to consider a multitude of different experiences, experts will be interviewed on this topic and a model for dynamic plant monitoring will be created based on the knowledge gained from literature and interviews.
