Abstract
The aim of this masterthesis is a systematic description of the mechanical behaviour of segregated zones by multiple layers of friction welded joints with different chemical composition. By producing thin intermediate zones material combinations have been selected, which primarily differ in carbon content, to study the effect of differences in the alloy content and also the influence of the width of the segregated zones by various heat treatments. For this purpose, hardness tests, tensile tests and notch impact tests are conducted by varying the parameters mentioned. In addition, metallographic specimens were also made to visualize the segregated zones.
