Abstract

The present thesis deals with the application of a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to remove nitrogen oxides at the cement plant Rohrdorf. The main focus of the tests was the possible deactivation of the catalyst. The thesis initially provides an overview of the theory for the SCR and the state of knowledge regarding the possible deactivation mechanisms. This is followed by a description of the installed low-dust test facility and the experiments carried out in 2009. Regarding to the achieved results, the installation of a low-dust SCR seems to be possible at the cement plant Rohrdorf.
