Abstract
This thesis focuses on one hand on the evaluation and analysis of quantitive data of the Austrian maintenance industry and on the other hand on the creation of a questionnaire for service providers in maintenance. An inventory and an evaluation of the relevant areas in statistical mathematics for the handling of small sample tests using different testing methods and software tools are the basis for the evaluation. With this knowledge, the given data is investigated with the statistical software SPSS using different inductive and descriptive statistical methods. The found cognitions are compared to other investigations from different European countries, which is quite delicate due to the different access to data acquisition. A detailed expertise on the Austrian and the European maintenance industry in consideration of partial aspects of maintenance management is the basis for this questionnaire aiming on service providers in maintenance. This simultaneously assures the need of such an investigation. The development of the questionnaire considers known aspects of quality in technical services that are necessary for long lasting market leadership and competitiveness.
