Abstract

Based on the master-thesis of Mr. Steinwandter the calculation program for the pneumatic conveyance system of refractory concrete was enhanced, improved and documented. Furthermore a two-phase atomization nozzle was developed and the nozzle's pneumatic characteristics were investigated. Spraying experiments at operating conditions were done as well, whereby the atomization nozzle was improved. In laboratory experiments the hydraulic characteristics of the nozzle were investigated. The effectiveness of water dispersion was quantified by laser diffraction measurements of the droplet-diameter distribution in the spray. Based on these findings a suggestion for dimensioning of the water injection nozzle is given.
