Abstract
The goal of this research was to find potential optimization prospects for the waste to energy plant MSZ3 in Moscow. In a first step the state of technology was assessed by a literature research. In the next step the mass and energy flow of the flue gas cleaning plant was calculated and multiplied with the expense factors, to get a view of the operating costs. A flue gas cleaning plant, using sodium bicarbonat as absorption medium, was also simulated in IPSEpro to compare their costs. On the base of the data of the computer model and the experiences from the trial operation demerits and optimization potentials were shown.
