Abstract

This master thesis deals with measures to prevent and reduce pollutant emissions from the production of fired refractory products from tunnel kilns, with the emergence of the emissions of dust, nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides, carbon monoxide, organic substances and hydrogen fluoride were studied. The current status of the legal framework and the limit values for tunnel kilns in the refractory industry are also considered. A brief overview of the common emission measurements is given. The main part adopts the measures for reduction of dust, nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides and VOCs, as well as exhaust gas conditioning measures. To round it off, a comparison of three production sites of RHI AG with respect to the emission control systems with a detailed consideration of the filter and thermal incineration. In summary decision pedigrees for each emission serve as a guide for selecting the most appropriate exhaust gas purification system.
