Abstract
This thesis discusses aspects of logistics controlling and production controlling for biomass power plants and should be understood as a guideline for the implementation and improvement of existing controlling systems. This gives an insight into the state of the examined plants. From a logistics point of view, this thesis focuses on the characteristics, challenges and solution approaches for combined heat and power plants. Therefore this thesis is addressed to logisticians and persons involved in biomass power plants. The thesis is divided into two main parts. In the first one the topics biomass, biomass power plants as well as balanced scorecard are discussed. The first chapter of the second part contains a case study about logistics controlling. The structure and methodology of the used IT system is explained and, based on this, the gathered results using this system are displayed and discussed. The following chapter called Production Controlling contains aspects about the generation, the retail as well as the sales of heat and electricity. Beside of technical explanations of the controlling system also the market situation and the market research are discussed. This chapter should present the delivered results and gives a guideline how to plan the implementation of such a system and which factors have to be considered. A customized bioenergy balanced scorecard provides an overall view of the key performance indicators and the state of the plants. Based on the two applied systems, the balanced scorecard should serve to aggregate the calculated figures and therefore provides a comprehensive view of different areas of a power plant. The balanced scorecard contains only a few significant key performance indicators which can always be analyzed in detail because of the used systems. Due to this it is possible to use this balanced scorecard as a benchmarking tool for various plants.
