Abstract
To detect the airflow at the inlet of a wet cooling tower, a sensor should measure the vectorial flow velocity and the resulting turbulence parameters. For this measurement procedure a suitable conveyor system was designed that does not interfere with the airflow itself and that requires any fix installation at the cooling tower. Furthermore a distance measurement was integrated to provide the position of the sensor. Dimensions and weight of the conveyor are transportable by a usual car trailer. The design accords to stability against collapse, rules of mecanical integraty and rating of the drivetrain. Part and assembly drawings and the estimated costs for a prototype are also included.
