Abstract
There is an increasing number of companies that introduce management systems and get certified by authorized organizations. Management systems often exist in parallel and cause undesired additional efforts for companies. Management systems are very similar in their structure, therefore the aspect of integration becomes more important. A key aspect is the use of synergies and the bundling of similar business processes. After an introduction to integrated management systems, the thesis describes integration concepts and potential benefits for companies. Quality, environmental and occupational health and safety management systems are described in detail to understand the differences between these management systems. Additionally, requirements of the ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 standards and the committee draft ISO/CD 45001 (2014) are described in the thesis and provide guidance for the practical implementation. At the end of the chapter synergies and bundling potentials of the standards are described. Further, the thesis gives an insight into fundamental concepts of process management. Beside characteristics, process types and process levels, two methods for modelling processes are presented. Concepts for the implementation of processes in companies are described to be able to realize developed processes. The practical part of the thesis mainly consists of two parts. On the one hand, the organizational project STREAM with its objective, project phases and implementation approach is described. On the other hand, this part of the thesis provides detailed insights into the processes “risk assessment”, “environmental aspects”, “work place hazard identification”, “waste management”, “evaluation of legal requirements” and “emergency planning”. Beside the assignment of responsibilities for process steps, data objects and associated IT systems are described.
