    Abstract

    Because of an enlargement and permanent rising energy costs an alternative conveying system in an open pit is searched instead of the existing system quarry-truck / excavator, which meets certain demands (annual production, delivery flow). To know about the current state in the company, an on-site analysis was made in the quarry. The relevant results of the analysis were used as a base for further considerations. After appropriate literature research and some perambulations a applicable alternative conveying system was found, a material funicular which fulfils the demands best compared to other conveyors. This system firstly was worked out in technical aspects in different versions and considered economically afterwards. In the last step the different versions were compared with a new acquisition of the system quarry-truck / excavator. Thereby different attributes, Advantages and Disadvantages of the different conveying systems were shown.
