Abstract

The fretting fatigue behaviour and the bulk fatigue behaviour of a thermoset rubber (Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber - HNBR) and a thermoplastic polyurethane grade (TPU) were characterized by various experimental methods and by finite element simulations. The main results along with the conclusions are summarized in three chapter of the dissertation: „Fretting fatigue”, „Analog triggered image acquisition software” and „Characterization of the bulk fatigue properties”.
