Abstract

The aim of this work was the development of a dust measuring system for continuous measurement of dust concentrations. Firstly, the measurement methode had to be chosen. The focus was on the optical dust measurement concepts, hence the optical absorption measurement method was selected as measurement approach. On this basis, the dust measuring system was designed and its functionality was tested. A prototype of the measuring system was produced using 3D printing technology with polylactide as material. The prototype was checked whether the dust particles crossing the sensor zone were getting influenced by the design. The information gained were considered for the development and design of a next version of the dust measuring system. Furthermore, a laboratory equipment for producing a defined dust/air mixture was developed. Thereby, the possibility of recording the calibration curve of the measuring system was given.
