Abstract
The thesis describes the development of a prototype of a Three-Dimensional Bin Packing Algorithm and its integration in an order picking system for manual warehouses in the food industry with a focus on high-wage countries. In particular, the thesis questions the technical solutions currently available on the market and their applicability. For the economic applicability of the picking solution, the focus is set to high-wage countries. As references, companies from Germany, Austria and Switzerland are used. The result of the thesis is a Three-Dimensional Bin Packing Algorithm for manual picking where the operator is led by a Pick-by-Vision System through the picking process.
