Abstract
To evaluate the complex damage mechanisms of bodies in contact in tribosystems, differentiated and repeatable testing is basic. Depending on specification of the types of fatigue of frettings are varying in slip-dominant inspection due to particle welding on the surface or pitting accumulation as edge layer failure during pure over rolling. Also the tribosystems is influenced vitally by the lubrication layers nature and design between the contacting bodies. Therefore system parameters are engage power and furthermore the local surface pressing, the slip as well as the sliding speed. Also the frequency of testing is not only defining the testing time, it basically characterizes the tribolosystems through inserted thermal rating and thermal balance in the contact area respectively. This papers intent is a testing machine concepts development and implementation for achieving average to high contact pressings in the slip-variable handling. The systematic development lead to a design as three roller machine with two separate drives, surface pressure of more than 1,5GPa in the slip-variable handling and the whole range of frequency was enabled. Through application of two contact points per test panel the testing time is halved The concept was done full-size.
