Abstract
By the production of crude oil with sucker rod pumps, corrosive wear on the contact points between tubing string and couplings from the rod string is responsible for high wear rates. These cause to a leakage of the tubing and the function of the pumping unit cannot be guaranteed any more. This is linked with repairing costs, material costs and downtime. By the lining of tubing, it is tried to avoid the fatal effects from the corrosive wear regarding the pipe. In this thesis, different polymers were tested of their resistance against corrosive wear. This happened in a specially built pilot plant in which the conditions in a tubing could be simulated. For the evaluation, the surface profiles from the polymers were analysed with a chromatic coding confocal sensor and the wear rates were determinate with Mathematica. Material properties, needed for the interpretation were extract with tensile tests and Shore D hardness tests. The characterisation of the wear mechanism was done with scanning electron microscopy. This researches were the fundamentals, on which finally appropriate polymers with high wear resistance could be chosen.
