Abstract

The work deals with the acquisition and evaluation of energy flows using Python and the energetic optimization of a pharmaceutical production plant. Primarily it includes the recording and evaluation of the energy flows at the machine level which are shown in Sankey diagrams as energy flow, cost flow and CO2 flow diagrams. The results and optimizations are also broken down to the machine level. In particular at the case of refrigeration machines the energy efficiency can be greatly increased by simply adjusting parameters. A detailed examination of the air compressors with regard to heat recovery and exhaust vapor recovery in the vapor system is also included. Since the electrical energy used in compressed air generators corresponds mostly to the waste heat, this is a particularly interesting potential for savings. The exhaust vapor recovery not only removes visible steam plumes from the outside, it also represents a lucrative potential for savings.
