Abstract

This paper reports the design and properties of a geopolymer binder developed for pipe production using a slinger device, and suitable for transporting low caloric gas at temperatures reaching 500 Grad Celcius. The influence of curing time at ambient conditions on the durability of the resulting material was investigated. All application and shaping requirements were met. Further, a reaction with atmospheric CO2 causing expansion during the first 10 days of curing was identified. Controlling this reaction may offer further potential for improvement.
