Translated title of the contribution: Characterization of a bubble flow regime in water-polymer mixtures

Research output: ThesisMaster's Thesis

This thesis deals with the search for a measurement procedure for bubbles in disperse systems. Especially the disperse system of air and a water-polymer mixture is of interest. A detailed literature research on bubble behaviour in disperse systems provided the basis for this work. The theoretical part is completed by giving an overview of existing and applicable methods for disperse phase measurements. In the practical part five measurement procedures are tried out and the test results are presented. Three of the procedures are based on photooptical measurements: the HZDR optical flow microscope, the SOPAT-VR probe and the laboratory method Shadowgraphy. For determination of the total gas hold-up tests with an ordinary transparent pipe and the piezoelectric sonar system SONARtrac were conducted. Final conclusions on air capturing capacity of the chosen water-polymer mixture and the outgassing behaviour are given.
