Abstract
This diploma thesis deals with the analysis, adaption and improvement of the logistic process of Sandvik Mining and Construction Material Handling GesmbG & Co KG, a company involved in project business worldwide. After collection, visualization and a detailed SWOT analysis of the process of the equipment manufacturer the strength of the customer-orientation as well the weaknesses of transparency and information flow were identified. With a clear identification of the process requirements a new logistic concept was worked out. This concept considers the opportunities and threats of the old one and achieves advancement mainly in the most important factors of this thesis, transparency and information flow. With the help of programming experts a new software system was created and is now tested in a real project for a power plant loading device of the company. This software and a new component number for all free issue items, which is created ex the bill of materials, causes a big improvement, which is obvious in a better identification and retracing. Summing up, the essential role of transparency and of a consistent and constant information flow for a logistic process clearly turns out. That is mainly true for a company like Sandvik Mining and Construction Material Handling, which operates on-site production respectively assembly production in the complex segment of project processing.
