Abstract
This master thesis deals with the subjects IT Service Management and equipment availability within the company Knapp System Integration GmbH. The aim of this thesis is to analyse the as-is situation of existing processes to the framework ITIL within the company. As a further step possibilities are shown to adjust and adapt these processes regarding ITIL. In the course of this analysis ways are searched to integrate methods which are able to measure and subsequently increase the factor equipment availability of supervised customer plants via IT Service Management. Therefore the terms IT Service Management and equipment availability are discussed in detail in the theoretical part. Established standards and alternatives are presented. After that the analysis and the implementation of the processes within the defined goals follow in the practical part. Furthermore, a model based on ITIL backgrounds and the key figure Overall Equipment Effectiveness is developed to enable the measurement and increase of equipment availability. Finally, the results are to be summarised and recommendations for implementation are mapped out.
