    Abstract

Present Diploma Thesis deals with 3D Scanning of bulk materials in order to accomplish simulations. Therefore, suitable scanning techniques are determined and introduced more closely. The different 3D scanning methods are tested on basis of appropriate objects and the results of these test series are analysed. Furthermore, an economic assessment of the methods is done. After finishing the test series, one of the tested scan methods is chosen and investigated in more detail. A scaling test and a size test is carried out in order to identify the size after scanning and the maximum size that could be scanned. For the realization of large scale experiments, a test rig is engineered via a CAD program and then constructed. With this test rig, experiments with bulk materials are accomplished and documentated.
